I still call it the Dallas Show as we spent so many years attending the show in Dallas. There are things I still miss at not having the
show in Dallas as opposed to Las Vegas. Oh sure the current location is fast and easy to get into and out of, the hotels and amenities are cheaper and many could argue the attractions are many. PPAI was likely wise to move the show, it seems more successful than those waning years in Dallas. Still I miss the lobby scene at the Adolfus Hotel. The grand old charm of that place, when the entire hotel was booked up with all my friends and truly it seemed the only guests in the hotel were all the players in the Promotional Products world. Today we are jumbled into conventioneers and travelers, gamblers and tourists of all sizes, shapes and kinds.
When walking the lobby's, casinos, and lounges, I know very few of the people any more. Certainly we are there but seem to be absorbed in the masses and concentration levels are not the same. I enjoyed those times at the Adolfus. For me the show is about these times, these hours of conversation and shop talk.
I look forward to seeing you there....if I can find you.
